Dear Fashionistas,
Once upon a time, there was the Great Depression… This story tells you about some conservative trends, when society began to move back toward a more traditionally feminine and romantic look. Tells you about slim, toned and athletic bodies coming into vogue. This decade, the stylish 30s´, saw the appearance of sportswear and had some great storytellers, such as Elsa Schiaparelli, who had Salvador Dali to design embroidery motifs for her; Madeleine Vionnet, the ´Queen of the bias cut´ and Mainbocher, whose wedding dress and trousseau design for Wallis Simpson was described as one the most photographed and most copied dresses of modern times. It was also the decade, when Hermes started to popularize the zipper and when the first designer logo appeared on a garment by tennis star Rene Lacoste…
Below is a selection of images that illustrates both the decade and its interpretation to the modern world of fashion. (Source: Pinterest)

Hope you enjoyed the story, let me know what you think.

Such great style! I love the cream dress with the bead work on the back, and the white dress after it- so beautiful
Yes, they are indeed. Must have been great wearing those back then.
