As a blogger I spend quite a lot of time on Pinterest and Instagram, browsing through streetstyle images, looking for good poses for my own outfit shots. This one below in particular has a great story to tell, let me narrate you through…
The setting: Sunday morning in the garden…
Co-starring: a blue bag from Spitalfields Market and the “Bitter Sweet” flats from Shoe Embassy…
I’m sipping herb tea while reading an intriguing article wearing a stunning blouse from the Vintage Kilo Sale by Retrospect London (FYI, the next kilo sale will be on 25th June, come and meet me there). I’m absolutely not aware of hubby snapping around, this is all natural, the fact that I’m looking into the camera directly is just a happy coincidence…
Then I get up just to check whether or not my sight is still working well from a greater distance. I am still interested in the article and not aware of hubby making pictures, obviously…
And I think to myself: What if I continue reading like this, wearing my bag?” Because this is how people naturally do it. By the way, I am no way checking out my reflection in the garden glass door to make sure my pose is good enough…
Ops, why is my bag suddenly on this side? Not at all because I magically realise staring at my reflection that from the camera’s point of view it was on the wrong shoulder… Still sipping my tea…
Then I get into a relaxed and not forced at all pose to continue my morning routine. My knee does not hurt from being pushed into the cast iron chair…
Breaking free from my natural morning habitat, this is what happens when hubby says he’s not taking pictures, but in fact, he does…
Embracing the elbow element – I am now looking at my upper neighbour doing her washing up…
Aaand with a smooth move I come out from my own grip – this totally qualifies as morning yoga…
Then back to the start – I’m curious if I can read on from this posture. The answer is no. What I CAN, though, is hurt my back…
The end.
Hope you enjoyed my little story, proving that it is not always all that glitter and unicorns in real life just because it looks awesome on Pinterest or Instagram (even though, I totally am a unicorn)…
As mentioned before, the next Vintage Kilo Sale will be on 25th June, in The Brewhouse near London Fields, come and see me there!
A fun post! I enjoyed your photos and reading your story. 🙂
