Today’s contributor to the Fab Woman Project is Lauren from the sunny San Diego, where she lives on top of a bridge with her boyfriend. Her blog, La Petite Winget grabbed my attention with its colourfulness – apparently Lauren loves pattern, which sparkles through her stylish outfits. Intense (in the best way possible), passionate, creative, excitable, adventuresome.
- Where does the name of the blog come from?
Winget is my last name, and is normally pronounced win-git, which is totally unsophisticated and completely un-chic. I had a drama instructor once that, in an attempt to give me a little extra flair, started circulating that my name was actually pronounced whin-jay, immediately giving me a little drama and extra somthin’. And the La Petite part? Well, I’ve been described as being kinda little… so it all fits!
- According to you how is your blog special/different than the others out there?
My blog is definitely still growing, and I’m still trying to create a brand around myself. As of today, I would like to see La Petite Winget as a resource for those who love patterns, love prints, love the unexpected, and are willing to put up with my attempt at witty banter. Next year this time, who knows what I may be morphing into…
- Apart from blogging what do you do?
I love to explore and wander. One of my favorite days is when I find myself in a new place, surrounded by new people, just enjoying life, and discovering new sources of inspiration.
- In 5 years…
…I want to be established in San Diego, well on my path to working for myself and doing what I love. I cannot wait to see La Petite Winget reach new heights, and see all my blogging dreams become reality!
- What are you proud of?
I’m proud of taking the risk to start a blog, to put myself out in the blogosphere and work hard each and everyday to grow my brand and make La Petite Winget more amazing than I could have ever imagined.

Secretly, I’m a fantastic scrapbooker…
- Who would you like to spend a day with?
My favorite blogger, Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere. I actually met her once at an airport… she is everything I ever aspire to be…
- When are you the happiest?
At the barn, enjoying my horse, Moe (we’ve been together 11 years).
- What is the best thing about blogging?
Creating a space that totally 100% yours and see people all over the world respond and react, to find inspiration and make new connections.
- What makes a real woman?
My mom is the perfect example of a real woman. She tackles each day like a lion, nothing is impossible for her to achieve. I want to be just like her when I grow up, just in designer shoes and a great blouse.
- Who would you like to co-work with?
In my dreams, I would wake up and report to Jenna Lyons of J.Crew. Imagine the inspiration to be found in her office! Imagine the pure fabulousness of her ascetics! She is a total revolutionary!
- What is your favourite place?
My kitchen, but only when my boyfriend is cooking something amazing.
