I have a confession to make: I have a crush, a blogger crush. My “victim” is Natalia, a blogger from Slovakia, currently living and studying in London. Having a very unique and distinctive style her images immediately grabbed my attention in the midst of the blogger crowd. Natalia started originally as an Instagram visual blogger (Natinstablog) – having already more than 21,000 followers she is now also writing on her blog/webshop, where apart from her London stories you can get your paws on her coolest accessories and cloth (www.natinstablog.com).
A while ago I went to a fashion event (Off the Hook Magazine feat. The Huge London), where I spotted a familiar face. I wasn’t entirely sure that it was Natalia, I mean what were the odds, right. I got super-excited, so I came up with a plan: I will go and say ‘hi’ to her. Yes, that was THE plan. The whole plan. Now, first of all, I had never met her before; second I’m terrible in small talk and approaching new people. I know my plan was a bit shaky, to put it in a friendly way, as other than saying ‘hi’ my follow up line was ‘Are you Natalia?’. But, that was it. If she said ‘no’, then I guess I would have apologized, but if she said ‘yes’, then what? Plus, according to her images she looked like a super-cool person, who I did not really expect to give a damn about me, especially intruding her time in such a lame way.
We are obviously not in the same blogger class – I mean, she is kind of hard-core, while I’m more just a vanilla. We have different style (at least on the surface, as my imaginary me does a lot like her). And even though we share the same religion which most important dogma includes the ‘NO BRA’ policy (whenever applicable), I couldn’t possibly approach her saying: ‘Hi, are you Natalia? I don’t wear bra either…. Would have been a suicide.
Long story short, here’s what happened: I drank a whole bottle of Corona to gain some courage, and while mentally rehearsing my line I walked towards her. It were just a few steps I had to take, but I managed to hyperventilate anyway. Mind you it was uber-loud music playing and she was with someone, so I had to lean over pretty close to make her hear my speech. Now, you can imagine how awkward that must have been – a stranger coming up to you and trying to get as close as she can. Anyway, it turned out it WAS her, and I’m still alive, so it wasn’t such a disaster after all. To be honest I could not hear nor understand much of what she was saying – again, because of the loud music, plus my brain shut down from the trauma I caused myself. But what I do remember is that she was incredibly and surprisingly nice and friendly.
We had a quick chat, after which I returned to my darling with a victory grin on my face, immediately ordering another Corona to sooth my nerves. I was pleased with my mission, and happy to have the chance of meeting Natalia (who turned out to be a really super-cool person). Aww i loved the story! Its so nice to hear things like this and even better to hear that she was nice. Sometimes we think these stars wont give a crap about talking to us because we are not in the same league. But at the end of the day we are all human…or say it in a funny way even the stars dont smell of roses on the toilet…I have a few idols or crushes as you put it, and if i had a chance to go up to talk to them id probably wee myself from excitement 😉 however a couple of Bacardi would help a lot 😀
I would not call myself a star, definitely not haha I’m just another person out there and Anami was so cute the way she approached me, I was actually really shocked that someone recognized me to be honest 😀 So I was about to wee myself from the excitement ;P
what a lovely article! I love that you write about other bloggers so often. You do have an eye for it…you always pick out fabulous people to feature. Natalia does look very cool.
It would be nice if we could meet someday,:) even if we don’t share the same bra policy (I’m afraid that for some of us the bra is a necessity).

Haha i forgot to mention in my prev comment about the bra. Im glad i found some girls who are not that much of a fan of it 😀 i like them dont get me wrong. I just feel comfortable without wearing one and i wish i was that shape to need one ;-);-)
