Yotam Ottolenghi is an Israeli-born British chef who wrote many books – one of them which we have at home, called Plenty. It contains wonderful recipes, mostly vegetarian, and all of them daring and highly original. Every time we have guests coming over for dinner we like to amaze them with some dishes cooked from this book.
Loving his culinary world, I was super excited when hubby took me to Ottolenghi’s Soho restaurant, Nopi. The minute we stepped in I was wowed by the interior design (created by Alex Meitlis) – brass, whites and wood gives the place that special class, while keeping it down to earth (you also got to check out the toilet design, it is stunning). Every detail is perfectly done – the service, the design and of course, the food is a beautiful symphony to please the senses.
All the courses we loved – I had some sea bass with coconut salad, tamarind and date with courgette and manouri fritters dipped into cardamon yoghurt. Mouth watering just to read it, isn’t it?
Once in London go and dine in Nopi – you’ll find it near Oxford Circus station, a short walk through Carnaby street – 21-22 Warwick Street, London, W1B 5NE.
