SPRING IN MY APARTMENT

ENG: It’s been two weeks that we are back to London, and it seems that spring is just around the corner. The flowers on the terrace are ready to bloom, and it is time to prepare the garden for revival. It’s about a fresh start, and as nature reinvents itself, we can do the same with ourselves and our surroundings, as well.

First thing I will do to reorganize my wardrobe – winter clothes are no longer needed hopefully. I will change the heavier fragrances to light, citrus-like aromas, and all the candles around the house are being updated, too. Flowery scents are more suitable for this season, cinnamon and vanilla are no longer welcomed.

Tulips, hyacinths and daffodils will make the trick and set the mood around the apartment. You would be amazed how much a little bouquet can do for your home and soul. I like to declutter the house, bring out some quirky patterns and polish the metal accessories, so they reflect the sun even better. Then I sit down with a cup of tea, take a deep breath and wait for nature to do the rest…

HU: Ket hete, hogy visszaértünk Londonba, ahol úgy tűnik lassacskán már jár-kel a tavasz. A kiskertemben szinte teljesen kibújtak a tulipánok, nárciszok és a rózsabokor is új életre kelt a teraszon. Bennem is halmozódnak az új ötletek, tervek, és amint aklimatizálódom hozzá is kezdek a megvalósításukhoz. Nemcsak saját magamat, de a környezetemet is igyekszem felfrissíteni. Jólesik ilyenkor a tavaszi nagytakarítás – a szó szoros és átvitt értelmében is.

Először a ruhatáramat tavasziasítom majd – ideje a téli dolgokat eltenni és átszellőztetni a szekrényt. A nehezebb, aromásabb vaníliás illatokat citrusosra váltom, így kölcsönözve frissebb karaktert nemcsak a ruháimnak, de a szobának is. A gyertyáimat is lecserélem, tavasszal nem aktuális a fahéjas, inkább a virágos illatokat választom. Ehhez persze élővirágot is használok majd, imádom a tulipánt és a több színben pompázó, üde tavaszi csokrokat. Varázslatosan új életet lehelnek a tél alatt megfáradt lakásba és a lélekkel is csodát művelnek.

Ilyentájt szeretek megszabadulni a felesleges dolgoktól, kütyüktől is, mintegy felszabadítva így a házat. Mintha én is felkészülnék az újra, tárt karokkal és felfrissült lakással fogadva azt. Az asztalra vidámabb terítő kerül, a cserepes virágok lassan kikerülnek a kertbe, és a levendulát is visszavágom, hogy nyárra újra teljes pompáját mutassa.

Függönyt mosok, mintásra cserélem a díszvánkosok huzatát, és kifényesítem a fém kiegészítőket, hogy többszörösen is visszaadják a tavaszi nap melengető sugarait. Aztan leülök egy csésze tea mellé, és várva-várom, hogy velem együtt újraéledjen a természet…
