The thought of getting engaged was something surreal for me – even though the actual happening turned out to be super-romantic. If it was a Hollywood movie it would be Titanic 2, just to give you an idea of the emotional rush (and the weather). However, fortunately no one died there, even though it was almost the same amount of water, and had the same effect on me – laughing out loud. While many people considered it to be a beautiful film, it was always too much for me. But, just to stop being such a sarcastic ladybird, I have to admit, that the way my hand was asked for in marriage happened to be the perfect story. And being my (actually our) story, it is special and one of a kind (if interested, you can read it here).
Now, in my country it has recently been becoming popular to have an engagement shoot, and it is certainly even a must-do here, in England. To be honest, I didn’t put much thought into that, until my friend, Lucy convinced me. Having already had a couple – kind – of – shoot with her (see it here), this time we wanted a slightly different approach, a more casual shoot. We went to St. Albans, which is a cute little town off London with sweet little corridors and streets and stunning houses. Lucy asked us to bring some props, which we selected last minute – cheesecake, which is our best friend and also participated in our engagement; a pair of forks, to reflect the ones we took from the restaurant upon our engagement (turned out they were “traveling” forks, as after landing in our hands, they landed in the officer’s at the airport in Turkey – apparently they were considered as a weapon in my hand luggage); and last but not least, some tulips, because they are my favourites.
It was the beginning of April, really cold that day, perhaps it doesn’t come through the images. We had endless fun during the photoshoot, people were actually staring at us because of our laughter (and for some other reason, which is embarrassing one might say). Lucy is not only a great photographer, but also a wonderful person, who cares a lot about making people more comfortable in front of the camera, while capturing their memorable moments. And, I’m not saying this just because she’s a friend of mine – I really mean it!

Tami, ez nem maga az eljegyzes napja volt. Angliaban szokas fotosorozatot kesziteni mindenrol, igy az eljegyzes es az eskuvo kozotti idoszakrol is, amit magyarra forditva “eljegyzesi kepeknek” hivnak. Lucy baratnom rabeszelt egy ilyenre, igy beadtuk a derekunk is keszitett rolunk egy sorozatot 🙂
