Walking in Bratislava is always special – brings back so many memories. After graduation I had a gap year, so moved to the capital and started working – I was 19 that time. My life in Bratislava involved endless partying, hard work and many new friends. I fell in love here, and got my heart broken. Life thought me couple of lessons, that I’m grateful for. I was sad and happy here at the same time.

My favourite part of Bratislava is the Old Town, which is actually the most visually appealing part, especially from tourist point of view. It has endless restaurants, galleries and amazing architectural features from the times of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy. Take a walk on the cobbled streets and listen to what the city has to tell you. Then indulge in taste heaven in Verne Restaurant near the National Theater. Bratislava is a fairly small capital with a controversial view, but sure has a special place in my heart.

Thank you for the reblog, xx
Such a beautiful city! My friend lives there and I visited once – its lovely to see the pretty photos above xx
It is mainly beautiful in the center, other parts are holding the secrets of the socialist era.

It was the first time, I had ever been to a place where everyone looked like me. I grew up with too many Irish kids around. XO
Haha, so you have an East-European distinguished look? 🙂
Bratislava is a great city!
And a classic one, too 🙂
I had two gap years before University and it was a lot of fun:) amazing photos!
Thanks Ivana. Yes, a gap year is a good idea to have an appetizer from life before burying yourself in studies again. It’s such a relief after going to school for ages.
Looks absolutely lovely!
Thank you, xx
