Having these images for a long time I felt it was time to finally make this post about the most important beauty tool, the LIPSTICK. Having a collection myself I’m following my dear friend/make-up adviser’s tip (Livi @ Liv’s Visage), and even on comfy days I’m applying at least a “berry kiss” to perk up my minimal make-up. I often work from home, so on those days you can find me sitting at my desk with messy hair, wearing sweatpants, yet still rocking my red lips (hm, now it might sound rather awkward than fabulous). It makes me feel more confident, and just the thought of it lifts my soul.
Above is my basic collection of reds, purples, pinks and oranges, some with a bold statement, some in tuned hues just to softly dress my lips up. I usually use the “lipstick-kisstissue-lipstick” ritual. The colour and texture will last much longer, but honestly, I have a more sentimental reason: my dad told me that her mother used to do that.
Here are my favourite lipstick quotes:
“I said pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together.” Marilyn Monroe
“I wrote a thesis on love, and I wrote it in lipstick. Of course, I also got blood on the paper, because the lipstick was still attached to her cheating lips.”Jarod Kintz
“Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.”Gwyneth Paltrow
