ENG: I am under a spell… The spell of Marilyn Monroe… And Colin Clarke… And Michelle Williams… And the book, and the film… Just so overwhelming…
I read the book ‘My week with Marilyn’ a long time ago, but didn’t get a chance to see the film until today. To be honest, I’ve never thought of Monroe as a great person or an actress. She seemed to be a silly girl, lost in the world, collecting trophies that are made of flash & bone… A curvy blond who does everything to get on the picture – as many would say.
Well, I don’t think so any more. At least it’s not that simple. She was and still is something, that’s for sure. Something that still sells, that lots of women want to recreate, that the audience still admire. Being stunning on screen is one of the things she could do. And boy, she could do it well!
Played by the excellent Michelle Williams, – an underestimated actress in Hollywood in my opinion-, the film is a lovely tribute to the phenomena of Marilyn Monroe. And if you want some more, have a look at Beth Jones’s blog, where she spends a week with Marilyn, too…

HUN: Elvarázsolt Marilyn Monroe és Colin Clarke… És Michelle Williams… És a könyv, no meg a film…
A könyvet (Egy hét Marilyn-nel) mar régebben olvastam, de a filmet csak ma sikerült megnéznem. Őszintén, sosem tartottam valami sokra Monroe-t, nem a legnagyobb tehetség, és inkább tűnik buta kis szőke fruskának, aki úgy gyűjti a férfiakat, mint más a bélyeget, mint komoly szinésznőnek.
Nos, eme véleményem már a könyv elolvasása után változni kezdett, és a film csak hozzájárult ehhez. Most sem gondolom, hogy óriási színészi képességei voltak, de azt el kell ismernem, hogy a kamera imádta őt. Marilyn olyan karaktert hozott létre, ami még mindig eladhatö, amit sokan újra szeretnének kreálni, és amit a közönség a mai napig imád. Egyszerűen elvarázsol.
A filmben a csodálatos Michell Williams alakítja Monroe-t, egy bájosan klisés emléket állítva ezzel az örök ikonnak. (megjegyzem, szerintem Williams kissé alulértékelt Hollywoodban…) Ha szeretnél még ’több Monroe-t’, nézd meg Beth Jones blogját!
